How We Handle Data

Our whole business is data, so here is exactly how we handle it: where lead records come from, how each one is labeled, where data is stored, and how to get a record removed. Plain words, matched to how the work actually runs.

Salty twists through tangled data and comes out holding the leads.

Where lead data comes from

Every lead record we build starts from sources the companies themselves publish — their own websites, their published contact and team pages, and public directories. That is the only well we draw from.

We buy no lists. We guess no email addresses from name patterns. We scrape no personal data. A contact only becomes sellable when its email address and its published basis — the page where the company itself published it — are on the record. If a record has no published basis, it does not ship. That rule is enforced in our database, not just promised here.

How records are labeled

Every record carries a confidence label — HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW — set at the moment it is verified, so a client can see how solid each row is before they ever use it.

When sources conflict — a title that changed, a page that disagrees with a directory — the conflict is flagged on the record, never smoothed over. A downgraded record says it was downgraded, and why. The label is part of the delivery, on every file, every time.

Where data is stored

Lead records live in our own database, on our own servers. Nothing sits in a third-party list marketplace, and a client's delivered file is never resold or reused for another client.

When a list is delivered, it goes out as a spreadsheet or CSV file — and that file is the client's to own, keep, and use.

Messages sent through this website — a Spec request, a contact message, a newsletter signup — are stored by Squarespace, our website host, and delivered to our business inbox.

Your record, your call

If you appear in our data and you want out, that is your call to make — and it is a short one.

Email us at smurphy@roicpleadgen.com and we will remove your record and confirm in writing. No forms, no phone tree, no argument. The same address reaches us for corrections: if a record about you or your company is wrong, tell us and we will fix it or remove it.

The same goes for this website: if you wrote to us through a form here and want that message deleted, ask at the same address and we will delete it and confirm in writing.

What we never do

  • No purchased data. We do not buy lists, records, or audiences from data brokers or list sellers.
  • No guessed emails. No address is ever constructed from a name pattern or a format formula.
  • No scraped personal data. If a company did not publish it, it is not in our data.
  • No selling visitor data. Nothing collected through this website is sold, rented, or traded.
  • No reselling client files. A list built for one client is never delivered to another.

Visitors & this website

Reading this site asks little of you. Our host, Squarespace, sets standard cookies and provides basic visit statistics; we add no advertising trackers of our own and we never sell visitor data.

The only information we receive from you directly is what you choose to send — a Spec request, a contact message, or a newsletter signup — and it is used to answer you and run the work you asked about. Spec requests and contact messages reach our business inbox; newsletter signups are stored by Squarespace. Nothing you send here is added to a lead list for sale — our lists are built from published business sources, never from our own inbox.
